This limited-edition piece is created entirely by hand by a master ceramicist whose work has been exhibited in galleries across three continents. The form — a graceful, elongated oval body with a subtle taper to both the base and the neck — is deceptively simple, placing all of the focus on the extraordinary surface treatment. The glaze is applied in a technique the artist has spent over a decade perfecting: layers of colored slips are applied to the leather-hard clay, then carved through in a sgraffito pattern to reveal the clay body beneath, creating a design that is simultaneously painted and sculpted. The pattern is organic and botanical in inspiration — trailing roots, leaf veins, and seed structures — rendered in deep charcoal against warm amber clay tones. The final clear glaze coat seals and protects the surface while adding a warm luster. Each piece is personally signed and numbered by the artist on the base.
